New York looks to snap a four-game losing streak at Rogers Centre
TORONTO — The Yankees need a win today. Not because of the standings, but because they have their ace on the mound in a ballpark and against a team the Yankees have struggled against.
This season, the Yankees are now 2-3 against the Blue Jays after starting 3-0. Every game the teams have played has been decided by a save situation, a margin of three runs or less.
After being removed from Friday’s game with “right hamstring tightness,” the Yankees placed Trent Grisham on the IL and recalled Jasson Domínguez from his rehab assignment. Grisham had been one of the hottest hitters in the Yankees lineup, and his production will be missed at the top of the batting order.
First pitch Saturday will be at 3:07pm on YES.
Here is how the Yankees will line up today:
For the first time in his MLB career, Domínguez will play right field. He will bat second today to give some balance to the top of the Yankees’ order. Spencer Jones will move to Center Field with Josè Caballero still at shortstop.

Pitching Matchup
Yankees RHP Cam Schlittler (7-3, 1.87)
Cam Schlittler has been one of the best pitchers in the AL, if not the best, so far this season. The Yankees need that version of him tonight in Toronto. Schlittler in his career (four starts) against the Blue Jays is 0-2 with a 5.68 ERA. With the way the Yankees have struggled in Toronto, Schlittler is going to need to pull his weight tonight for the Yankees and give them some much-needed length and a quality start.

Blue Jays RHP Keven Gausman (4-4, 3.60)
No active pitcher in baseball has faced the Yankees in their careers more than Keven Gausman. The Yankees have had moments of success against him and also moments of weakness. Last season, Gausman was particularly tough against the Yankees after his first outing in April. The Yankees will look to have some of that success against them as they attempt a much-needed win against their AL East foe.
